It’s here! Registration for Hope’s Annual Spring Retreat starts THIS Sunday! Look for an envelope in your Worship Folder.

Maybe you have never been to the Spring Retreat and you are wondering what it is all about or what you do there? Well, perhaps the many of you who have been before could share with all of us your favorite thing about the Spring Retreat or a favorite memory. Let us all know why it is SO worth getting out of town for the weekend and hanging out with a bunch of crazy hopesters!

The retreat is happening April 9th-11th at Big Sandy Camp. Registration is open from February 28th – March 28th.

Adults $85
College Students $65
Youth (0-17) $25

This cost includes all lodging, activities, and food. But if money is a problem, it is not a problem. Scholarships are available. Just let us know what you need. If you have more questions please email, Spring Retreat Coordinator, Missy Benson at missybenson@hopecc.com or join the Spring Retreat FAQ group.

Also, t-shirts will be for sale this Sunday and the coming weeks. $10 for short sleeve, $15 for long sleeve and $8 for kids.

Hope to see all of you all up at Big Sandy!

Favorite Spring Retreat Moments?  Hard to do since ALL THE TIME IS JUST GREAT!!  However, my favorite snapshots:

  1. The late night ping pong tournament each and every Saturdays (which the Treichler family Rules)
  2. The great worship
  3. Working hard to get to know each and every person who goes
  4. The incredible fun the kids of all ages have
  5. The games (sumo wrestling, boxing ring, velcro wall)
  6. The fun my three boys have had each of the last 8 years.  Basically, I see them when we arrive Friday night, and then they enjoy themselves on their own until 12n on Sunday, other than crashing together at nights and the occasional “hey dad!”
  7. Mark Johnson’s great messages on how to live missionally with people who don’t yet have faith in Jesus
  8. Jeff Dodge reminding us in his message that God “delights over us with singing” [Zephaniah 3:17]

So, if this is your first time considering Spring Retreat, let me be the first to invite you and urge you to be part of a memorable and lasting weekend experience as the people of Hope party and grow together at Spring Retreat 2010!!

Hopetallica was AMAZING last year! Thanks guys!

- Getting to know people that I’ve seen on Sunday’s but never knew before.

- Softball spring training.

- Worship time is always great!

- At the retreat a couple of years ago, hopesters taught me to play 500 (the card game, not the football game…) and now it’s one of my favorite things to do!

Worshipping God and the way He seems to really teach me something important each year that I go.

Knowing people when I leave who I didn’t know before.

GAMES GAMES GAMES!  If you love games, there is ample opportunity to play!  If you don’t love games, don’t worry…there are many other fun things to do!

Hey, if you’re reading this, I want to tell you that you should totally come! Retreats fit in one weekend what can take a year to develop in normal week-to-week encounters with people.  So, if you’re looking to feel more “connected” with Hope – whether you’re new or have been coming for years – this is the way to do it! It’s like a big family vacation – or better yet, a giant sleep over with all your friends!

2. Staying up all night playing games with old and new friends.
