LDI Trek 1 Coordinator
Hours per week: 15, to start Aug. 1, 2010
Reports To: Senior Associate Pastor of Discipleship/ LDI Director
Purpose: To supervise, shepherd and care for TREK 1 Interns and aid the LDI Director in supporting, developing, and training these young leaders in the areas of biblical thinking, Christ-like character, and ministry skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Help interns assimilate to being on staff by responding to God’s work in their lives, fostering relationships, and serving sacrificially.
- Coordinate and administer mentor/mentee(s) relationships for each intern throughout the year.
- Support and oversee each intern’s individual fundraising efforts.
- Set up and organize LDI office space.
- Coach each intern on appropriate initial ministry assignments and connect them with appropriate leaders.
- Send out weekly class and scheduling updates and devotional/ encouragement emails.
- Maintain prompt (within 24 hours) correspondence with TREK 1 interns in order to answer questions, give feedback, guide them accordingly, etc.
- Co-teach the course Competing with Horses. This includes reading class materials, preparing notes, grading papers, and facilitating class discussion.
- Co-facilitate and co-coordinate LDI Orientation Retreat in August of each year.
- Coordinate LDI end of the year celebration in May of each year.
- Serve as spokesperson and recruiter for LDI.
- Keep all LDI marketing information updated.
- Research, contact, and connect with all prospective students to promote the program year-round.
- Host and coordinate 3 LDI informational lunches.
- Lead efforts to raise financial support for LDI including coordinating all logistics for the LDI 5K.
- Write, print, post, and send out the monthly newsletter, “The Flash” for donors.
- Keep administrative records of all ministry happenings and write thank you cards for each donation.
- Support the LDI Director in whatever ways he finds necessary in order to contribute to the health, development, and vision of LDI.
- Manage the disbursement of budgeted funds for LDI within the guidelines of the approved budget and in adherence with the purchasing policies of the church.
- Attend weekly services and actively participate in the life of the church and its members.
Qualifications:
The right individual will be committed to and passionate developing leaders. He or she will also be a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ and believes in the vision and mission of HCC. He or she will be highly gifted in the area of shepherding, counseling, teaching, discernment, communication, administration, and encouragement and has the capacity to complete the tasks listed above effectively and efficiently. He or she will have a deep knowledge of the Bible. Degree in a related field is preferred. He or she will have experience in ministry and shown leadership capabilities. Other desired traits are organized, flexible, creative, self-sacrificing, detail-oriented, self-motivated, hard worker, people-oriented, reliable, team player, humble, and ability to keep confidential information.
